Attorney Tom Smith founded Smith & Smith, LLP in 1957. A past president of the Cullman County Bar Association and a former Alabama State Bar commissioner, Tom is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Alabama. In addition to his work as a lawyer in private practice, Tom has held the position of prosecutor for the city of Hanceville and has served for 20 years as municipal court judge for the city of Cullman.
Attorney Steve Smith graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law and was admitted to the Alabama Bar in 1986. Steve served as a law clerk and as bailiff for the circuit judges of the 11th Judicial Circuit in Florence before joining his dad at Smith & Smith, LLP.
In 1990, Steve accepted a position with the Cullman County District Attorney's Office, where he served as the director of the Cullman County Drug Task Force and as an assistant district attorney. Steve has also held positions as prosecutor for the cities of Addison and Hanceville. In 1994, he rejoined Smith & Smith, LLP and he continues to serve as a special prosecutor for the city of Cullman.
Attorney Sherry Barrett devotes much of her practice to legal matters involving children, including adoptions, juvenile court and child custody issues. Sherry also handles all types of real estate matters.
