Attorney Tom Smith founded Smith & Smith, LLP in 1957. A past president of the Cullman County Bar Association, as well as a former bar commissioner with the Alabama state bar, Tom is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Alabama.
Steve Smith graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law and was admitted to the Alabama bar in 1986. Following graduation from law school, Steve served as law clerk and bailiff for the Circuit Judges of the 11th Judicial Circuit in Florence, Alabama. Following his clerkship, he joined his dad in the law firm of Smith & Smith, LLP. In 1990, Steve accepted a position with the Cullman County District Attorney's Office where he served as Director of the Cullman County Drug Task Force and served as Assistant District Attorney. In 1994, he resigned this position and rejoined Smith & Smith, LLP.
Steve and Tom have both served terms as prosecutor for the city of Hanceville. Tom spent 20 years as Municipal Court Judge for the city of Cullman. Steve acted as prosecutor for the city of Addison and continues to serve as special prosecutor for the city of Cullman.
